The real Fats may indeed be “The Dean of the Green” but he’s less articulate than the way he was played by Jackie Gleason in “The Hustler,” if even more cantankerous. That makes for a colorful character but a poor instructor. The old master gives us tips that are brusque, vague and boastful, then runs the table against guest celebrity Waylon Jennings--not very edifying. A voice-over narrator pretty much takes over the guidance, aided by a few nice graphic touches, but the resulting video, though of some value, does not use its hour well. Information: (714) 474-0355.
