An apparent drowning victim whose body was found at Bolsa Chica State Beach Saturday was identified Monday as that of Janau Nau Noerdlinger, 44.

Lt. Dick Olson, spokesman for the county sheriff-coroner, said Noerdlinger had been living in the Los Angeles area. Investigators believe there was no foul play involved in her death, Olson said.

The woman’s body washed ashore about a mile north of Golden West Street, where it was discovered by a passer-by about 8 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

Deputy Coroner Richard Slaughter said Sunday that an autopsy revealed no signs of violence or trauma to the woman’s body. He added that the victim had not been dead long when she was found. Laboratory test results, which will show whether the woman was intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, will not be available for several days, he added.
