Titan Football Game Rescheduled, Moved to Fresno State
Cal State Fullerton’s thin home football schedule got thinner Monday with the announcement that a game against Fresno State scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, at Santa Ana Stadium has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30, at Fresno so that it can be part of a series of Thursday night telecasts on ESPN. Kickoff time for the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game will be 6 p.m.
According to a press release issued by the Fullerton athletic department, the change was needed because of inadequate lighting for television at Santa Ana Stadium. Fullerton Coach Gene Murphy said the Titans were willing to sacrifice a home game for the national television exposure.
The change means that the Titans will be on the road for nine of their 12 games this season, including an Oct. 2 game at Tulsa, which also will be shown on ESPN.
The Fresno State game was originally scheduled to be Fullerton’s homecoming. An alternative homecoming game has not yet been selected.
