KHJ-TV Channel 9 will serve up a fall lineup that will feature seven shows not previously seen on the station, ranging from an action-adventure series to games and music, in all, adding up to 7 1/2 hours of first-run programming daily.

In announcing the schedule Tuesday, Charles Velona, Channel 9’s vice president and general manager, said the station will kick off its fall programming on Sept. 15. He said that with the exception of “The Fall Guy,” which makes its off-network debut on the station, the station is offering a record amount of first-run and original programming.

“The Fall Guy,” the former ABC series starring Lee Majors as a stuntman-bounty hunter, will air weeknights from 6-7 p.m.

“The All-New Dating Game,” featuring Elaine Joyce as host, will be seen at 7 p.m., and the new “Hollywood Squares,” hosted by John Davidson, will air at 7:30 p.m. Returning with new shows will be “The $100,000 Pyramid” at 8 p.m., and “Million Dollar Chance of a Lifetime” at 8:30 p.m.

A nightly newscast, with Wendy Gordon and Tom Lawrence anchoring, will continue at 9 p.m.

The afternoon lineup will include two new first-run courtroom dramas, “Superior Court” at 4 p.m., and “The Judge” at 4:30 p.m. These will be preceded by “Love Connection” at 3 p.m. and Joe Garagiola’s new game show, “Strike It Rich,” at 3:30 p.m.

An early afternoon newscast, currently seen at 1 p.m., will move to noon, and “Sally Jessy Raphael,” a magazine/talk show, will continue with first-run programs in a new time slot, 12:30 p.m.

In the music field, “Solid Gold,” which has been on KCOP, will move to KHJ-TV, airing Saturdays at 7 p.m. Marilyn McCoo will be hosting.

New on the Channel 9 sports scene will be Lakers pregame programs hosted by Roy Firestone.

On the documentary front, KHJ-TV has three “Changing Family” and three “Camera Nine” programs on tap, on-going specials that last year won the station seven Emmy Awards.

Velona also said that “Mid-Morning Los Angeles,” hosted by Meredith MacRae and Tommy Hawkins (9-10:30 a.m.), will move to a format of daily theme shows with a live audience.
