An Inglewood man was convicted of first-degree murder--with special circumstances that could either send him to the gas chamber or keep him behind bars for life--in the March 1, 1985, robbery-slaying of a restaurant manager. A Superior Court jury found Raheem R. Hall, 25, guilty of killing fast-food franchise manager Cari Kaye, 30, who was slain as she was en route to a bank with $1,600 in cash. On Monday, jurors will begin the penalty phase of the trial in which they must decide whether Hall will live or die.
