Gunman Kills Ex-Marcos Backer

MANILA —
An unidentified gunman today shot and killed a supporter of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos as he walked toward a parking lot across from the Manila Hilton Hotel, police reported.
Felizardo Lota, 46, a former prosecutor in Batangas province and a leader of the Civilian Marcos Loyalists, was shot at point-blank range four times, police said. Witnesses said the gunman fled into a nearby park.
