West Covina : Moratorium Extended
The West Covina City Council has extended until next June a moratorium on the construction of adult movie theaters, bookstores and sex shops. A 45-day moratorium expired Aug. 7. The action was taken after a public hearing at which no residents spoke.
The Planning Department and Planning Commission requested the extension to allow for more review of zoning regulations that might be imposed on adult businesses. Massage parlors already are restricted to certain areas. A Planning Commission hearing is scheduled Sept. 3.
