Moreno Argentin of Italy, recovering from a broken collarbone, won the 47-mile men’s Estes Park Circuit Race Wednesday in the Coors International bicycle race.

Argentin won the prestigious Liege-Bastogne-Liege race last April before breaking a collarbone that kept him out of the largest European stage races. After finishing in 1 hour, 50 minutes, 14 seconds Wednesday to boost himself into sixth place in the overall standings, Argentin pronounced himself fit to race for the world professional road championship in Colorado Springs Sept. 6.

Dutch racers Theo De Rooy and Adrie Van Der Poel finished in 1:50.44 and 1:50.49, respectively, for second and third. Overall race leader Bernard Hinault, five-time winner of the Tour de France, tied for 11th, good enough to protect his overall lead.
