WASHINGTON — A committee formed to persuade Chrysler Corp. Chairman Lee A. Iacocca to run for President by showing a groundswell of support for his candidacy has raised less than $10,000 so far, according to a financial statement the group filed Friday.
The statement, filed with the Federal Election Commission, showed the Draft Lee Iacocca for President Committee had raised about $9,600 as of June 30, spent $3,155 and had $6,446 in cash but owed $13,078. The total raised came from eight contributors.
Iacocca has disavowed any connection with the committee.
