POPPING OUT

Gumby will leap out at readers next month when the little green guy makes his 3-D comic debut, featuring four of his TV tales (including the Blockheads).

Blackthorne Publishing is doing the honors--with blessings from Gumby creator Art Clokey, who sent in a clay figure for the cover shot. Said one awed Blackthorne rep: “It was kind of like seeing a movie star.”

Also set for 3-D: Dick Tracy, in a story adapted from a 1958 plot featuring Miss Egghead.
