“Threads.” World. $64.95. Billed when it played on U.S. television last year as the British version of ABC’s “The Day After,” this could be called “The Decade After.” Instead of just depicting the buildup and immediate aftermath of a nuclear war, the 110-minute TV movie dramatizes in a succession of stark vignettes what would face the survivors into the next generation. Early scenes of mundane prewar activities explode into a nightmarish vision of humanity transformed into virtual zombies--suggesting that through apathy lies annihilation. A Spanish-language (dubbed) version is also available, promotion-priced for this growing market at $20 less. Information: (213) 820-6100. 1/2
