13-Year-Old Turns In Parents

Share

Deanna Young, the 13-year-old who turned her parents in to the Tustin Police Department, should be proclaimed a national heroine for her accomplishments in our nation’s war against drugs.

The courageous young lady exhausted every avenue that she could think of to end her parents’ dangerous activities before, as a final, life-saving effort, she requested help from the local police department. Miss Young’s fear for her parents’ safety was probably the heaviest of the many motivations for this drastic solution.

In anticipation of the cry, “Our country is becoming a police state with children acting as government watchdogs,” I submit that we are a fabulous, free society that enables, encourages, and teaches young adults to formulate and act upon their own convictions.

My hat is off to those, including her parents, who contributed to Miss Young’s development.
