Million-Dollar Persian Carpets Ready for Sale
TEHRAN —
Iranian weavers have finished two huge Persian carpets to be sold for a total of $2.7 million, the newspaper Ettela’at reported Tuesday.
Weavers in Asheqabad village spent five years on a 1,200-square-yard wool and silk carpet, to be exported to Switzerland at a price of $1.5 million, it said.
Another carpet, 400 square yards in area and woven in Ashtarjan, will be sold in London for $1.2 million.
