Wong Named Warren College Provost
UC San Diego physics professor David Wong has been named provost of the university’s Warren College, University of California President David Gardner announced Tuesday.
Wong, who had been acting provost of the college since June, 1985, will be the college’s chief academic and executive officer, and will coordinate the faculty attached to the college. He succeeds drama professor Michael Addison, who returned to teaching and research.
Warren is one of UCSD’s four colleges, which are separate schools of 2,500 to 3,000 undergraduates, each with its own educational philosophy and geographic section of the campus.
