No Wonder Quarterbacks Are Put on Injured List
In over 50 years of football viewing, I’ve seen few moves as brutal, vicious and unnecessary as the tackle made by the Fridge on Neil Lomax in the Bear-Cardinal fracas. The quarterback was stopped, “in the grasp” and it was all in an exhibition game at that.
The signal-caller in his way is as vital to the Cardinals as is Jim McMahon and “Sweetness” to the Bears. These guys better listen for footsteps from now on. I don’t think the rest of the league will soon forget the overdone intimidation of the Bears in this one.
With the drug problems and this brutality, they are making a golf fan out of me.
