A passenger aboard an LOT Polish Airlines plane held a knife to the throat of a stewardess during a hijacking attempt but was overcome by security guards, passengers reported after the Soviet-built TU-134 landed in Warsaw. The official Polish news agency PAP identified the assailant as a patient at a psychiatric clinic and said he is a minor. The incident occurred Thursday on a flight from the southwestern city of Wroclaw to Warsaw. Two anti-terrorist police specialists in combat fatigues routinely ride on Polish domestic flights.
