The Long Beach airline, which on Aug. 6 signed a tentative agreement to sell itself to Alaska Air Group for $3.25 a share, told shareholders to “continue to await further developments before tendering shares.” A spokesman for the carrier said it was possible that Alaska Air might top a competing offer from Delta Air Lines, which offered Jet America shareholders $4.25 a share on Aug. 18. Alaska Air owns 9.9% of Jet America and has options to buy up to 29% of the airline.
