Santa Fe Springs : 3 Organizations Get Funds
- Share via
After deferring action in late June, the City Council last week approved allocating $3,300 to three community organizations that requested funding for fiscal 1986-87.
The council delayed action on the requests pending a report by the city’s director of social services, who gathered information about the groups. The largest amount went to Project Info, which conducts family workshops on drug and alcohol abuse. The Whittier organization was allocated $2,000.
The Southeast Council on Alcoholism and Drug Problems Inc., based in Downey, will be receiving $1,000 for Foley House, a home that opened last December in Whittier to treat alcoholic women and their children. Meals on Wheels, which serves three Santa Fe Springs residents, will receive $300.
