The Region : Search for El Toro Woman Continues

Authorities were still searching for the wife of an El Toro-based Marine a week after she disappeared from a rest area on Interstate 8 near El Cajon in San Diego County. Nancy Allison White, 22, had called her husband, Milton White, from the rest area to tell him that her Volvo sedan had overheated and that she would not be able to return to Orange County without help. She had been visiting her husband in El Centro, where he was on temporary assignment, according to a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department spokesman. A neighbor drove to the rest area and found the car with a purse and overnight bag undisturbed on the front seat but no trace of the woman. The spokesman said White is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 120 pounds, with light brown shoulder-length hair and a fair complexion. She was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and light blue shorts.
