Local News in Brief : Cancer Victim Kills Self at Hospital Door
Aman drove up to the emergency room entrance at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia hospital on Saturday morning and, in front of a doctor and two nurses, shot himself to death with a pistol, authorities said.
Samuel Crowe, 67, had reportedly been suffering from emphysema and recently had surgery for bladder and prostate cancer, said homicide investigator Richard Kennerly of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. An oxygen bottle was found in Crowe’s truck, Kennerly said.
Crowe shot himself after pressing a button outside of the hospital’s emergency room that summoned medical personnel, Kennerly said.
