Don Gainer Elected Head of Southland Plasterers

Don Gainer, chief executive officer of Pierce Enterprises in El Monte, has been elected president of the Contracting Plasterers’ Assn. of Southern California, succeeding Jim Rutherford of Rutherford Lathing & Plastering Co. in Los Angeles.

Other officers include Dennis Hayward, W. F. Hayward Co., vice president; Terry Mann, E. F. Brady Co., treasurer, and Ian Hendry, association executive manager.

Board members elected for two-year terms are Peter Berger, Berger Bros.; John Migliaccio, Migliaccio Plastering and Rutherford. Holdover members for one year are Bob Heimerl, Mowery-Thomason Inc.; Joe Krader, Zellner Plastering Co.; Charlie Ray, Western Plastering; Dick Martin, Martin Bros. Plastering, and Frank Turley, Statewide Plastering.

The Contracting Plasterers’ Assn., dating back to 1901, includes major plastering contractors in Los Angeles and Orange counties and represents management on business matters, including labor negotiations.
