The State Bar of California has selected Vista criminal defense attorney Diane C. Campbell as the local recipient of the President’s Pro Bono Service Award for volunteer legal work.
Campbell, a graduate of Western State University College of Law, has practiced law for five years, specializing in criminal defense. As chairman of the county’s Indigent Defense Advisory Board, she helped implement a study that led to an overhaul of the county’s system for providing defense to those unable to hire private lawyers.
The award, to be presented this week during the annual State Bar convention in Monterey, also recognizes her unpaid work on individual criminal appeals and her involvement in nearly a dozen legal organizations.
