A 13-year-old Porterville boy was shot to death when he tried to intervene in an argument between his parents on a street in Fillmore. Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said Roberto Limon was in a car driven by his mother, Margarita Limon, 42, who was arguing with her estranged husband, Eduardo Montelongo Limon, 47. Deputies said Eduardo Limon drew a pistol and pointed it at his wife. The boy was shot several times in the face, they said, when he moved between the pair in an apparent attempt to shield his mother. The mother stopped the car and called authorities, who pronounced the boy dead at the scene and arrested the father on suspicion of murder. He was held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
