Center Jim Carson, the first selection of the Kings in the 1986 National Hockey League draft, has signed a multi-year contract with the team.
Carson, 18, was picked by the Kings with the second overall selection of the draft. A native of Detroit, Carson became the second-highest American-born player ever taken in the draft.
