Felony charges will not be filed against the parents of an 11-year-old Los Angeles girl who led police earlier this week to marijuana plants growing in her family’s backyard, the district attorney’s office announced. No evidence was found of any crime committed by the girl’s mother, officials said. But evidence against the girl’s stepfather, Andre Ray, will be referred to the city attorney’s office for the possible filing of a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession, since there were indications that the man may have planted six marijuana plants in the backyard of the South-Central Los Angeles home, officials added.
