A Yorba Linda woman whose car veered off a road in an unincorporated area near Anaheim last month died early Friday from her injuries, authorities said.

Jean Byrd, 48, who suffered severe injuries to her legs and arms in the Aug. 30 crash, died about 1 a.m. at UCI Medical Center in Orange, a spokesman for the county coroner’s office said. Hospital officials had said Byrd also suffered internal injuries.

Two of four children in Byrd’s car when it crashed between a tree and a concrete wall that Saturday afternoon were hospitalized with less serious injuries, the California Highway Patrol said. It was not known if the children, ages 13, 12, 5 and 3, were Byrd’s, authorities said Friday.

Byrd was driving on Orangethorpe Avenue near Kellogg Drive when her Toyota veered to the right for an unknown reason, CHP dispatcher Janelle Clem said at the time. The car jumped a curb and crashed near the intersection of Boisseranc Street, Clem said.
