A sailor struck by three cars while pushing a disabled bike across a Mission Bay Park bridge early Saturday died later in Sharp Cabrillo Hospital. None of the drivers stopped.

The 25-year-old sailor was crossing the Ingraham Bridge, in the eastbound lanes about 3:15 a.m. when he was hit and knocked down by one car, hit again by a second, then hit and run over by a third.

A fourth motorist spotted the man’s body in the road and summoned aid. However, the sailor died shortly after arrival at the hospital.

The man, whose name was not released by Navy officials Saturday, was wearing dark clothing and was probably difficult to see, a San Diego police spokeswoman said.

She said the three drivers are being sought for questioning about possible vehicular homicide and felony hit-and-run charges.
