Chargers Sign Former Bear Cornerback Ken Taylor

Short-handed in the secondary because of a season-ending injury suffered by cornerback Danny Walters, the Chargers signed former Chicago Bear cornerback Ken Taylor Tuesday.

Taylor, who was waived Sept. 2 by the Bears, was one of three defensive backs to try out with the Chargers last week.

“He ran well and has played in the league,” said Charger defensive coordinator Ron Lynn.

Taylor, 6-feet 1-inch, 186 pounds, was All-Pacific 10 as a senior at Oregon State. He signed as a free agent with the Bears before the 1985 season. In 16 games for the Bears, including one start, Taylor returned punts and made three interceptions.
