An assault and battery complaint was filed Thursday against a Redondo Beach man who allegedly grabbed and molested a Disneyland employee dressed as Minnie Mouse near the amusement park’s disco, police said.

The city attorney’s office filed the misdemeanor complaint against Lee Jack Eric Jacques, 21, who was arrested Wednesday night, said Police Lt. Billy Wright. Jacques remained in the City Jail with bail set at $500, Wright said.

The 17-year-old employee, her face hidden beneath the oversize head of the Minnie Mouse costume, was confronted about 4:45 p.m. as she walked near Videopolis, which had closed.

Wright said a young man “grabbed ahold of her breast and started . . . pinching her.” She broke away, but about 15 minutes later he again accosted her, Wright said.

“Pluto was nearby and he tells the guy to knock it off, and by this time the security guards were called,” Wright said. The victim, who was not identified, retreated to a lounge area.

An hour later, park security guards stopped the suspect on Main Street U.S.A. and called police, Wright said.

The district attorney’s office declined Thursday to file a felony complaint against Jacques, who gave no occupation to police. He initially had been held on suspicion of sexual battery, with bail set at $10,000.
