Man Gets New Heart After Friends Raise $100,000

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
An oil-field worker whose friends and neighbors raised more than $100,000 for his medical bills received a human heart Thursday in a transplant operation at Humana Hospital Audubon, officials said. Sam Glidewell, 46, of Lavaca, Ark., was reported in stable condition after the five-hour operation.
