A felony charge of cruelty to animals, as well as three counts of grand theft and arson, were filed against a South Los Angeles man suspected of stealing a truck filled with 37 attack dogs, then setting the truck ablaze. The fire killed two dogs and sent the others fleeing in a South Los Angeles neighborhood. Chester Hill, 25, was arraigned in Los Angeles Municipal Court on charges of stealing the truck and dogs, belonging to C & C Sentry Dogs of Gardena. Deputies are still trying to arrest Hill’s employer and alleged accomplice, John Daniels, 30, of Inglewood, who faces the same charges.
