Thunderstorms bowled across the Plains, pushing rivers, creeks and streams over their banks and flooding streets. The rains caused scattered flooding across southern Iowa and northern Missouri. Thunderstorms also covered parts of southeast Minnesota, Illinois and southwest Wisconsin. Eleven inches of rain soaked Canton, Mo. Parts of the Big Sioux River in southeast South Dakota were as much as four feet over flood stage.
