Nearly 400 Entries Considered : Elan Awards Given for Best Marketing

Santa Fe in Valencia, Marlborough Seaside Village in Port Hueneme and Del Rey Colony in Marina del Rey were grand award winners at the fourth annual Elan Awards ceremonies at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

The awards are presented each year by the Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara chapter of the Sales & Marketing Council, an affiliate of the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California. More than 1,100 people attended the Sept. 13 program where nearly 400 entries received award consideration.

The announcement of winners published Sept. 21 following the fourth annual Elan Awards program honoring marketing efforts in the Southern California housing industry, contained three errors. The Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara chapter of the Sales & Marketing Council, an affiliate of the Building Industry Council of Southern California, is the event sponsor.
Following are corrections in the respective categories: In the Grand Award (community with an average sales price under $110,000 category), won by Sante Fe in Valencia, Color Design Art was the interior designer, Albers and Albers designed the sales office; Serenata, by Sandorf Building Co., was the winner of the the Best Architectural Design (detached-- not attached --home under 1,500 sq. ft.); Skyview, by Glenfed Development, was the winner of the Best Architectural Design (detached-- not attached --home, 1,500 to 2,200 sq. ft.).

Santa Fe, a development of Valencia Co., was honored for houses with an average sales price of less than $110,000. The architect was Johannes Van Tilburg & Partners, with interior design by Color Design Art.

Marlborough Seaside Village, developed by Marlborough development Corp., won in the $110,000 to $170,000 category. The architect was Magaro & Stockton, with interior design by Norman Colburt. Del Rey Colony, by Christiana Community Builders, won in the $170,000 and over category. The architect was Richardson, Nagy, Martin and the interior designer was Joseph A. Terrell.
