3 Held on Beach Riot Charges

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Three men were arrested today and nine other people, including three juveniles, were sought in connection with the Labor Day weekend beach riot that erupted during a professional surfing contest.
Like some of the 28 people arrested immediately after the Aug. 31 riot, the 12 suspects were identified on videotape and photographs taken by news people and spectators attending the Op Pro Surfing Championship, said JoAnne Bonkowski, a police spokeswoman.
