A Southeast San Diego man was arrested Thursday in connection with a homicide on Aug. 31, San Diego police said.

Acting on a tip, police officers found Daniel James Singleton, 27, at a residence in the 5000 block of La Paz Drive. He was arrested without incident and booked into County Jail on suspicion of murder, Sgt. Hank Olais said.

Police spokesman Bill Robinson said Singleton had been sought on a no-bail warrant issued in April as well as for questioning in the shooting death of Floyd Williams.

Williams, 27, was shot several times with a small-caliber handgun during an altercation involving several men in the Southcrest Recreation Center parking lot on South 45th Street. Williams died later at UC San Diego Medical Center, Robinson said.
