Crane Operator OK in Accident
A crane operator was rescued by firefighters today after his crane hit high-voltage power lines, which trapped the workman inside the vehicle’s cab.
Sparking hot wires hampered rescue operations and endangered the worker’s life, Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said. Firefighters took about an hour to remove the man from the cab, stuck in wires across from the Southern Pacific Co.’s Taylor freight yards in Glassell Park.
