Mixed Doubles Teams Advance

Linda Mallory of Laguna Niguel and Dave Sherbeck of Costa Mesa defeated Debbie Goldberger of Huntington Beach and Mike Fedderly of Newport Beach, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6, Saturday in the mixed doubles semifinals of the 11th annual Wimbledon West Charity Tennis Tournament at Mission Viejo’s Marguerite Recreation Center.

Mallory and Sherbeck will meet Barbara Lemberg of Laguna Niguel and Dick Miller of Newport Beach in today’s 3 p.m. final. Lemberg and Miller defeated Colleen Patton of Irvine and Darren Yates of Irvine, 6-3, 6-2, Saturday.

In the men’s open semifinals, John Washer of Corona del Mar and Eric Amend of Palos Verdes defeated Miller and Bernie Mitton of Newport Beach, 7-6, 6-3, and Kevin Gillette of Laguna Beach and Craig Miller of Tustin beat Jerry Van Linge of Irvine and Sashi Menon of Laguna Niguel, 6-4, 7-6. The men’s final is scheduled for noon.

In the women’s open semifinals, Andrea Kriva of Van Nuys and Shannon Gordon of Van Nuys beat Sheri Hull and Jennifer Slattery, both of San Juan Capistrano, 6-2, 6-3, and Mallory and Lemberg defeated Wendy Kremp and Jill Johnston, both of Brea, 6-2, 6-3.
