Four people were placed on probation and two received short prison terms after pleading no contest in a Kern County child molestation case. Bakersfield Superior Court Judge Harry E. Bianchi said he allowed the six defendants to reach a plea bargain to spare children involved in the case from having to testify. The Probation Department described the sentences as “extremely lenient.” Pamela Weatherly, Stephanie Jenkins, Kelly Leroy and Ralph Lopez were sentenced to three years’ probation. Allen LeCaine and Melvin Weatherly were given three-year prison sentences, but they may be released in a few weeks because of time already served.
