The new owners of a house in the 500 block of 25th Street in Santa Monica need a little help in getting rid of something that came with the property: a live aerial bomb bolted to the rafters of their garage. Santa Monica police, called by the new owners as soon as they discovered the World War II souvenir, got help from the Los Angeles County sheriff’s bomb squad in removing the object, which did, indeed, contain its original explosive ingredients. They removed it for safe detonation and contacted the previous owners of the dwelling, who said the bomb was there when they moved in many years ago, but they did not know it was dangerous.
