69th Victim of Air Disaster Identified

The coroner’s office has identified another victim of the Aug. 31 air collision over Cerritos, bringing the total of identified victims to 69.
Gergorio Huerta, 46, of Norwalk was a passenger aboard the Aeromexico DC-9 jetliner that collided with a small private plane before both slammed to earth, killing all 64 aboard the jet, three aboard the private plane and 15 Cerritos residents, coroner’s spokesman Bill Gold said Thursday.
Thirteen victims--one resident and 12 passengers--remain unidentified, based on the number missing and presumed dead, Gold said.
