A University of Maryland task force has urged tighter admissions requirements and higher standards for athletes.
The report, presented to the university’s Board of Regents, made no recommendations about the status of basketball Coach Charles (Lefty) Driesell, under fire in some quarters since the cocaine-related death of Len Bias, former basketball star at the university, in June.
