Share

Many free services, including flu shots and screening for eye, back and skin diseases, will be offered to the city’s older residents during the OASIS Senior Center Health Fair scheduled for Nov. 8.

The fair will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the OASIS Senior Center at 800 Marguerite Ave. in Corona del Mar.

Roseann Bora, a program coordinator at the center, said that this year’s fair will be the “biggest yet.” She said at least 400 of the center’s 2,800 members are expected to take part during the day’s activities.

“Along with our standard free services, such as flu shots, we will be offering two new screenings--fitness profile screening and muscle screening,” Bora said.

Other free services being offered will be screenings for glaucoma, skin cancer and spinal stress. The Orange County Transit District will distribute senior I.D. cards, and there will be information provided by a number of organizations, including the Arthritis Foundation, the American Diabetes Assn., Braille Institute, American Heart Assn., the American Red Cross, and the Alzheimer’s Assn.
