San Pedro : Shuttle Service Extended
The San Pedro Transport shuttle bus extended service this week to the Long Beach Naval station and shipyard in an effort to accommodate Navy personnel and other residents of San Pedro who work in Long Beach.
The shuttle bus, operated by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, runs from Gaffey Street in downtown San Pedro, over the Vincent Thomas Bridge to the naval facilities. The bus already runs to the Federal Correctional Institution on Terminal Island. The fare is 50 cents.
The buses run every 30 minutes on weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and again from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; on Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and on Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Information on the shuttle can be obtained by calling 549-2071.
