Wrecked Plane, 2 Dead Found
Two men aboard a single-engine plane that crashed in the Angeles National Forest were found dead today in the wreckage in a canyon below Mt. Wilson.
The Cessna 172, with an unidentified student pilot and instructor aboard, had filed a flight plan from the Van Nuys airport to Santa Monica and disappeared from radar about 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Volunteers who had been searching for the missing plane called off the search at about 4:30 a.m. and resumed their efforts 3 1/2 hours later.
