Anaheim : League of Cities Names County Branch Officers

Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem Irv Pickler has been named president of the county division of the League of California Cities.

Pickler has served on the Anaheim City Council since June, 1982, and is the first council member to head the 51-year-old civic organization.

Placentia Mayor George Ziegler became the group’s first vice president, and San Clemente Mayor Pro Tem G. Scott Diehl was installed as second vice president.

Meanwhile, the league honored Board of Supervisors Chairman Ralph B.Clark for his 16-year board career. Clark is retiring in December.

The league is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that attempts to coordinate policies on problems such as hazardous waste disposal, and takes positions on state and federal legislation affecting local governments. All 26 of the county’s cities are members.
