Drug Charge on Mother Dropped

Felony charges were dismissed today against the mother of a fourth-grader caught sharing rock cocaine with his classmates earlier this month at a central Los Angeles school. Wilhemina Jackson, 35, had been accused of child endangering and maintaining a house where narcotics are sold.

Further investigation showed that Jackson knew that her two children were being exposed to drug trafficking but was too fearful of retaliation to put a stop to it, Deputy Dist. Atty. Lauren L. Weis said. Rory Heidelberg, 22, a family friend who allegedly gave the cocaine to the 9-year-old, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles Municipal Court.
