Sparks Named to Manage Indianapolis Next Season

INDIANAPOLIS —
Joe Sparks has been rehired as manager of the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple A club he led to the American Assn. baseball championship this season.
Sparks was named the league’s manager of the year for leading the Tribe, the Expos’ top farm club, to the title. He previously won the manager of the year honor at Iowa in 1973 and at Omaha in 1981.
