A thick fog Sunday night resulted in Lindbergh Field flights being diverted to Los Angeles and in about 20 minor boat rescues, officials reported.

“No flights have been able to land at Lindbergh Field since 7 p.m. (Sunday), and my guess is that it will be like this through the night,” airport supervisor John Jones said about 9 p.m. Sunday. “We only have two commercial airplanes here now, and we usually have more than 30 around this time.”

Harbor police reported minor problems of people out in boats needing direction through the fog. No damages or injuries were reported.
