The Region : Dead Man Wasn’t Slain

A transient found dead near Los Angeles’ Union Station in the car where he habitually slept died of natural causes and was not a victim of a serial killer held responsible for nine recent deaths of drifters and other lone men on the streets, Los Angeles police determined. Detectives said the unidentified transient, believed to be about 60 years old, had suffered a heart attack and that blood found beneath his body was from internal hemorrhaging. A guard who found the body said the man had been sleeping in the car for the last year.
