Tampering With Switch Causes Freight Derailment

RICHMOND, Mich. —
A freight train passed through a switch that had been tampered with and derailed Tuesday, the FBI said. No injuries were reported after three engines and 12 cars of the 77-car Grand Trunk Western train left the track shortly after midnight.
